HELLO!
LOUISE LAI Director
Louise Lai means business. She`s got the knowledge, the contacts and the business acumen to help you. Having secured a degree in Hotel Management, she worked as a hotel manager for various international hotel chains including The Marriott and The ShangriLa Group in Singapore. In 1997, Louise set up a consultancy firm in Hong Kong providing training solutions for service-related industries. She found her niche in Shanghai in 2001 when she set up Link Consultants , one of the city`s pioneer consultancy firms for the hospitality industry. Since then she has branched out to co-found Thread – disclosing her pearls of wisdom to Shanghai`s business world.
BEN WELDON Creative Director
Brit-boy Ben started out designing and building websites in London, as a designer he worked his way up through a media agency there until escaping in 2004. Leaving London and freelancing to fund his travels he`s gained valuable experience working on print and web design and development for a string of companies worldwide. His roster of clients ranged from Reuters News, Australia`s Liberal Party, and even Disney. He can channel his design expertise into any form of media advertising, but his forte lies in his passion for digital.
GARY WILLIAMS Business Development Director
Gary is from the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne just south of Scotland. After gaining a degree in Media Production Gary was distracted from the art and design world by the smooth marble lobbies of the financial industry. As a young energetic bank manager he had enough spare time to run his own company supplying interactive bluetooth advertising at the Millennium Stadium. Not content with this and also being a director, editor and sound recordist, the golden streets of opportunity in Shanghai was the carrot that drew him to China. Gary jumped straight back to managing a financial team, then a 3D rendering studio, but in the end it was Thread Design that pressed enough buttons for his insatiable appetite - managing people, money and creative, the combination is truly mice and cheese.
